Manchester United striker, Romelu Lukaku has revealed what he discussed with teammate Jesse Lingard that led to winner against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Lukaku said the winning goal against Chelsea was planned before the match kicked off.
The England forward struck his 13th goal of the season in all competitions to seal United’s come-from-behind win, with Lukaku having earlier cancelled out Willian’s opener just before half-time.
Lukaku played a key role in the second goal too, finding Lingard with a pinpoint cross, and he admitted afterwards that he had a chat with the winger and encouraged him to make more runs into the box.
Lukaku told MUTV, “I told him before the game that every time I go down the sides, he needs to make sure he’s in the box because I will find him.
“And he did well on the run and it was a great finish.”
He continued, “We realised between us that if we played a bit quicker between the lines we would create space for ourselves and that’s what we did, and I was happy with the goal.”
