Alpha females Kerry Washington and Viola Davis will finally meet during a special two-hour crossover episode which has been slated to air on March 1 on ABC.
The two-hour episodes are shared between the two shows. Power lawyer, Annalise Keating played by Viola Davis will be appearing in Scandal first and then Olivia Pope played by Kerry Washington will appear in How to Get Away with Murder. Both shows will appear simultaneously, with Scandal airing by 9 pm and How to Get Away with Murder airing by 10 pm.
This season 7 will be the last for Scandal and expectations, though high, have been driven higher by the show’s creator Shonda Rhimes with this mashup.
No one knows for sure what the plot will be – if Pope is fixing for Keating or if Keating is representing Pope. Aside from approved content release, all information has been guarded away from the press.
Entertainment Weekly released new shots from the set showing both Analise and Olivia storming into a boardroom on Instagram amidst the anticipation. As regards to the crossover, both stars had this to say to Entertainment Weekly.
“It was black girl magic on steroids!” Davis tells EW. “Me and Kerry dancing to ‘Rock the Boat’? Hey, it can’t get any better.”
Washington added: “I really love Viola. I have such immense respect and admiration for her.”
