Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, wants to be the top earner in world football and wants to earn €1million more than Barcelona’s Lionel Messi in his next deal.
Ronaldo has won back-to-back Ballon d’Ors, but is only the third highest-paid player in the world.
The 33-year-old earns less than both rivals Neymar and Messi.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Ronaldo has now told Real about his demands, which he feels will reflect the individual awards he has won in previous years.
He wants extras included in the new contract that reward both his personal prizes and goal return.
The Portugal captain has scored 21 times in his last 11 appearances, to spearhead Real’s surge into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
