Lionel Messi came off the bench to net a late equalizer, as Barcelona held Sevilla to a 2-2 draw on Saturday night.
The LaLiga leaders were on the brink of losing their unbeaten record in the league, after Franco Vazquez and Luis Muriel gave the hosts a two-goal lead.
Vazquez broke the deadlock when he was left all alone by the Barcelona defence in the 36th minute, finishing from Joaquin Correa’s cutback.
Luis Muriel’s deflected effort beat Marc-Andre ter Stegen five minutes after the interval as the striker doubled Sevilla’s lead.
Messi was introduced 13 minutes into the second half, but it was Luis Suarez to pulled one back in the 88th minute, before the Argentine superstar levelled the game.
The victory sends Barcelona 12 points clear of Atletico Madrid at the top of the table.
