Manchester United’s goalkeeper, David De Gea has revealed what Sevilla striker, Luis Muriel told him after his superb save during the goalless draw with Manchester United’s in the Champions League round of 16 first leg on Wednesday.
Jose Mourinho’s side were under pressure towards the end of the first half and looked like conceding before De Gea pulled off a sublime reflex save to deny Muriel’s goal-bound header.
The Sevilla striker even went up to De Gea after the half-time whistle to congratulate the United goalkeeper.
Asked what Muriel said to him after the save, De Gea told MUTV: “He said it was a great save.
“But the most important thing is the result, we don’t concede, so now the result is open. We need to play at home at Old Trafford, hopefully we can win there.”
Mourinho had earlier praised his goalkeeper’s latest performance.
His words, “I think the clean sheets are because of the team and because of David.”
“But we also kept a few clean sheets with Romero in goal so I think the team even with a couple of mistakes the team defended well.
“And when we made the mistakes David was obviously there and that’s the reason why he is what he is.”
