Arsenal have reportedly turned down Chelsea’s bid to sign Olivier Giroud on loan.
According to Italian transfer expert, Gianluca DiMarzio, the Gunners are not keen on parting with the French striker, who has also been linked with Borussia Dortmund.
Chelsea are desperate to land a target man this month to support Alvaro Morata.
The Premier League champions have been linked with names like West Ham’s Andy Carroll and Stoke City striker, Peter Crouch.
The Blues have also been in talks with Roma to sign Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dzeko, but the deal for both players is threatening to fall through.
Former Manchester City striker Dzeko is yet to agree terms and Chelsea are reluctant to offer him a contract beyond 2019, even though his current deal with Roma runs until 2020.
