Manchester United’s Ashley Young has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association and faces a three-match ban.
Referee Craig Pawson failed to spot Young elbowing Dusan Tadic in the stomach, during the second half of United’s 0-0 draw with Southampton on Saturday.
Young has until 5pm today to respond to the charge.
“Manchester United’s Ashley Young and Swansea City’s Kyle Naughton have both been charged with violent conduct following games on Saturday 30 December.
“Young’s charge follows an incident during Saturday’s game against Southampton which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video. He has until 5pm today [31/12/17] to respond.
“Meanwhile, Naughton’s charge follows an incident during yesterday’s game against Watford which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video. He also has until 5pm today [31/12/17] to respond,” an FA statement read.
